Carterton District Council is hosting a two-day Youth Climate Community Forum over the 14th and 15th of April (school holidays) for secondary school age participants, in the Event Centre’s Rangatahi hub.
If you are secondary school age and interested in what is going on with our changing climate, and how you can become involved in reducing the causes and adapting to the impacts of climate change, then this could be for you.
The programme is Wairarapa centric and covers the changes we can expect, what to believe (and what not), planting with the Parks team, waste and recycling with Carterton’s waste officer, emergency management with the Emergency Management Office, the Schools Strike for Climate, a workshop on climate change and the arts with The Dust Palace [could link to The Ice Cream is Melting], volunteering with some of the local groups, and more.
Full programme available here.
