Presented by Te Rākau Hua o Te Wao Tapu Out the Gate is a Theatre Marae conversation about incarceration in Aotearoa. Powerful, uplifting storytelling told with movement, music and words centered around lived experience.
Te Rākau weave Kaupapa Māori research and theatre traditions into creating understanding and wellbeing for communities and individuals. Out the Gate is the collective creativity of 17 performers and the creative paepae of Te Rākau, we are proud to be presenting this new play to the community of Wairarapa for one night only.
